The whole world is celebrating Mickey Mouse’s 90th anniversary this year, and Vans is taking part by releasing a new collection inspired by the iconic mouse.
Arriving October 5, the new line of footwear, apparel, and accessories features 11 designs inspired by Mickey imagery throughout the decades. The footwear playfully captures Mickey’s style and personality with a mix of eye-catching and subtle designs. Mickey’s sweetheart, Minnie Mouse, is also featured in some of the designs, and she inspired her very own red and white polka-dot shoes.
Inspired by “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” from “Fantasia,” the Sk8-Hi shoes include velvet quarter panels with celestial moon and star embroidery, which is complemented with contrast yellow stitching and blue suede panels. The shoes are finished with a black sole, star printed laces and a Sorcerer’s Apprentice emblem on the heel. To coordinate, a “Fantasia”-themed tee and the Old Skool II Backpack feature a tie-dye print and Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
The Sk8-Hi has also been outfitted with iconic scenes from “Plane Crazy.” Each quarter panel features a film scene depicted under patent material, and the shoes are finished with a 3D emblem on the heels.
Minnie’s polka-dot style is channeled for a two-piece footwear and apparel assortment. Incorporating her signature bow with satin materialization, the Authentic Gore and Slide-On Sandal feature Minnie detailing and a delicate scalloped edge. Matching Minnie-inspired crewneck, backpack and sock options are also available.
Become an honorary Mouseketeer with Old Skool shoes dedicated to the Mickey Mouse Club. Using suede and cotton canvas materials, the Old Skool silhouette features a red side stripe and the club logo is sewn on the tongue. Custom chain-stitched embroidery is featured on the heels.
A canvas pair of Old Skools feature Mickey’s iconic gloves, and there’s a hidden Mickey located on the tongue of each shoe. These minimalist shoes can be paired with a matching women’s apparel assortment that includes a checkerboard emblazoned tee, hoodie, hat and backpack.
A special 1980s-style version of the Old Skool combines multi-color uppers in pink, yellow, and green and features a fabulously retro Mickey Mouse print. Nostalgic ‘80s-inspired hoodies, jackets, backpacks and accessories are also available for men and women.
Mickey and Minnie look ultra cool on these flaming Checkerboard Slip-On shoes. In addition, there’s an LS BF Tee, backpack, hat and hoodie with flaming sleeves and a Checkerboard hood liner.
Vans’ original deck shoe has been transformed with Mickey’s signature colors. The yellow sole is complemented by black and red uppers and applique yellow buttons on the heels.
Starting October 5, Disney x Vans fans can also create their own Mickey or Minnie-inspired design. Vans Customs will offer two exclusive prints, including a Mickey Mouse-inspired icon and a Minnie Mouse polka-dot pattern. Choose your custom Disney style from a variety of color and material combinations across Vans Classic silhouettes.
The new Vans and Disney Mickey Mouse collection is available here and in Vans partner and retail stores starting October 5.
