Mickey’s 90th anniversary celebrations take place around the world this year and Disneyland Paris just revealed a special limited-time Mickey dessert in honor of our favorite mouse.
Disneyland Paris collaborated with Chef Pâtissier Pierre Hermé, a world-renowned pastry chef, to create this one-of-kind Mickey treat. “Taking inspiration from Mickey’s energy and enthusiasm, Chef Hermé translated those qualities into a tangy yet sweet marriage of fresh, fruity tastes,” says Disney.
The dessert, called “Mickey Zest Party,” is a new twist on the classic lemon meringue tart. The shortbread base is shaped like the Mickey icon and topped with lemon filling, preserved lemon zest, and pieces of lime-flavored meringue. Mickey’s ears are decorated with circles of dark chocolate and strawberry puree. Chef Hermé was named “Picasso of Patisserie” by Vogue Magazine, and it’s easy to see why with this artful, Mickey-inspired creation.
This sweet tribute to Mickey Mouse is available from November 17 through January 6, and you can find it at Walt’s – An American Restaurant in Disneyland Park and California Grill in the Disneyland Hotel.
Disneyland Paris is also celebrating Mickey’s 90th with the World’s Biggest Mouse Party through December 2018, and some of the special events will remain after the party ends. For example, each land in Disneyland Park features a gigantic, specially decorated birthday cake for our main mouse. You can snap photos and make a wish for Mickey, but unfortunately, these cakes aren’t edible.
Mickey’s friend Donald Duck has also prepared a surprise show with Mickey’s PhilharMagic: Disneyland Paris Edition. Guests are invited to get swept away during a 4D experience featuring memorable Disney songs and stories starring beloved Disney characters.
