Star Wars Celebration 2019 announced for April 11-15 in Chicago

Rebels, Stormtroopers, Wookiees, Jedi, and Mandalorians of all shapes and sizes: get ready to celebrate the “Star Wars” universe once again, as the official fan gathering Star Wars Celebration has been announced to return less than one year from now!

As announced on today’s episode of Lucasfilm’s news web series “The Star Wars Show,” Star Wars Celebration 2019 will take place from Thursday, April 11th through Monday, April 15th at McCormick Place (the largest convention center in North America) in Chicago, Illinois. Tickets will go on sale Tuesday, June 5th at StarWarsCelebration.com.

The previous Star Wars Celebration, held in Orlando, Florida in April of 2017, was a tremendously fun, memorable event that brought Star Wars fanatics together in anticipation of last year’s new movie “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” and Star Wars Celebration 2019 will almost certainly focus on its follow-up film “Star Wars Episode IX,” to be co-written and directed by J.J. Abrams.

Star Wars Celebration has been running intermittently since 1999, just before the first prequel movie “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace” was released into theaters.
