Adventure Island is a 30-acre water park in northeast Tampa, located across the street from Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. The park is under the same umbrella company of SeaWorld Entertainment and is where guests can experience over 10 water slides, 2 pools and 3 child areas. Since Adventure Island’s opening back in 1980, it has seen a great amount of changes, but Vanish Point will certainly bring an all new level of aquatic thrills to the water park.
WATCH – INSIDE LOOK AT VANISH POINT WATER SLIDE:
Vanish Point is Adventure Island’s newest attraction, which features three all-new water slides. Two of the new slides are based out of a skybox and feature 70-foot tall drops, while another bail-out slide is also a part of the new expansion, for guests who are too fearful of taking on the two taller slides.
Between the three slides, over 1200 feet of slide path has come to the park on account of Vanish Point.
The most fearful of the three slides has to be the green one, which features a drop-out floor and hurls guests down a 400-foot long slide. I personally got a chance to experience the attraction first hand. You can check out a video of my experience above.
This new attraction was inspired by a similar water slide of the same name at Water Country USA in Williamsburg, VA and Ihu’s Breakaway Falls at Aquatica Orlando. Both are popular attractions within each water park.
Vanish Point is now open at Adventure Island, which has just recently opened for the Spring.
