LEGOLAND Florida has announced the grand opening date for The Great LEGO Race, the first virtual reality roller coaster experience designed for kids.

The new coaster debuts on Friday, March 23, with animated action taking place both on the ground and in the air. During the wild race, guests steer LEGO-built vehicles and compete against minifigures such as a pirate, wizard, surfer, and pharaoh. With optional VR headsets, riders experience the action up, down, forwards, and backward in an environment where everything is made of LEGO bricks.

The VR headsets are designed to fit both adults and children. Guests must be at least 42 inches tall to ride The Great LEGO Race or be accompanied by a responsible adult at least 48 inches tall.

The Great LEGO Race is intended for guests aged 6 and up.
