It’s time for Pluto and Goofy to shine at Disney California Adventure, as the park hosts its annual Lunar New Year Celebration in honor of the Year of the Dog. The East Asian holiday– officially observed on Friday, February 16th this year– is already in full swing at Disneyland Resort with authentic food, music, entertainment, and of course plenty of Disney characters.
In the Paradise Gardens and Paradise Park areas of Disney California Adventure, guests will find lots to see and do, all themed in bright red and yellow Lunar New Year coloring. There’s crafts and activities for kids, tasty delicacies inspired by a variety of Asian cultures, and even an exclusive area for Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders.

Imported straight from Shanghai, the incredibly talented GuGu Drum Group performs shows regularly on Paradise Bay, with a view overlooking the area currently under construction to become Pixar Pier.

Returning from last year’s Lunar New Year Celebration is the “Hurry Home” pre-show for World of Color, with a new Year of the Dog accent and the same breathtaking water-spectacular visuals.

At the media preview event this past Friday, Disneyland Resort representatives detailed everything guests can expect to find when visiting Disney California Adventure for Lunar New Year Celebration 2018. It was an enlightening breakdown of the event and a helpful guide for anyone who wants to see everything the festival has to offer.

We were also treated to a demonstration by a Disneyland Resort chef, who walked us through the delectable food and beverage offerings available around the park during the special seasonal event.
