Tom Hanks to star in Mr. Rogers biopic “You Are My Friend”

Tom Hanks, dressed as Mr. Rogers in a signature yellow cardigan, smiles warmly while seated indoors against a backdrop of homey patterned curtains and a potted plant—evoking the inviting atmosphere fans loved in “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.”.

Tom Hanks is already an iconic actor, but he will soon be taking on the role of another television icon when he portrays Fred Rogers, the star of the long-running children’s show “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.”

“You Are My Friend” will be inspired by the heart-warming story of the real-life friendship between Fred Rogers and award-winning journalist Tom Junod.
