Marvel is known to tell compelling stories with fascinating characters using all different kinds of mediums. You can see them in movies or live shows, or read them in comics, but soon Marvel will be telling a new story in a brand new way.
“Wolverine: The Long Night” will be Marvel’s first scripted podcast, putting listeners in the middle of an intense story based on one of the most recognizable members of the X-Men.
Marvel has teamed with top podcast listening service and content network Stitcher to create this new 10-episode series which will follow agents Sally Pierce and Tad Marshall as they investigate a series of mysterious murders in an Alaskan town. Their top suspect is, you guessed it, Wolverine.
Richard Armitage, who played Thorin in “The Hobbit,” will voice Wolverine for the series. The rest of the cast will include Bob Balaban (“Moonrise Kingdom”) and Brian Stokes Mitchell (“Mr. Robot”). As well as Scott Adsit, the voice of Baymax in “Big Hero 6.”
“‘Wolverine: The Long Night’ brings our fans a whole new way to experience our iconic characters and the Marvel Universe,” said Dan Silver, vice president, head of platforms and content for Marvel New Media. “This tremendous cast will bring a thrilling level of intrigue and drama to our listeners. The character of Logan and this landscape make it the ideal premiere vehicle for us, and we’re excited to continue to explore the dynamic possibilities of the podcast medium.”
“Wolverine: The Long Night” will premiere on Stitcher Premium in Spring 2018, before making a jump to all podcast platforms in Fall 2018.
