“Coco,” “Stranger Things” among nominees for 2018 Golden Globes

Award season is upon us and that means it’s time for some of our favorite movies and television series of the past year to get the recognition they deserve.

Today, we learned of some of the movies and series that will be receiving that recognition as the complete list of nominees for the 2018 Golden Globes was released.

Golden Globe trophies sit gleaming in rows on marble bases, their golden surfaces catching the light like dazzling icons from fan-favorite experiences such as Coco’s adventure at Pixar Pier and the supernatural thrills of Stranger Things at Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights.

Among the nominees for Best Animated Film is the recently released Disney-Pixar feature “Coco.” The popular new film will compete against “The Boss Baby,” “The Breadwinner,” “Ferdinand” and “Loving Vincent” for the title of best animated film of the year.

The nominees for Best TV Series – Drama include HBO’s “Game of Thrones” and Netflix’s “Stranger Things.” The fantasy favorite and sci-fi hit will try to beat out “The Crown,” “The Handmaid’s Tale” and “This Is Us.”

“Stranger Things” actor David Harbour is also nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.

The 2018 Golden Globes will be held on Sunday, January 7.
