Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa erects its famous and beloved Gingerbread House in the main lobby of the resort each November to celebrate the holiday season.

Every year for the last 19 years, the Executive Pastry Chef Erich Herbitschek and the Grand Floridian pastry team spend over 400 hours baking gingerbread to make this edible life-sized house. The project takes over 160 hours to construct and decorate.

Set up inside of the special holiday house is The Bake Shop. Here, guests can find gingerbread ornaments, cookies, and gingerbread house kits, all made using a classic gingerbread recipe from Austria.
