Universal Orlando buys additional 101 acres for potential theme park expansions

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Universal Orlando has purchased another 101 acres of land for its theme park projects.

Per the report, the land is along Sand Lake Road adjacent to the $130 million purchase the company made in December 2015. The new purchase gives Universal more than 570 acres for expansions, though the company hasn’t provided any details on plans for the property.

Universal also recently filed a plan with Orange County to get approval for 2,451 overflow parking spaces on land along Destination Parkway.
