SeaWorld’s Aquatica announces new “Ray Rush” raft slide, closing date for HooRoo Run

A new family raft slide is making a splash at SeaWorld’s Aquatica water park in Orlando starting in spring 2018.

Ray Rush, which stands at nearly 60 feet tall, combines three unique slide elements into one action-packed attraction for the entire family. First, riders are launched at 33 feet per second with water jets designed to propel rafts into enclosed tube sections. Next, riders swirl through a translucent sphere which spins the raft around the slide walls before sending it into another enclosed section. Finally, the raft is dropped into an open-air halfpipe resembling a manta ray. Rafts soar back and forth on the wings of the manta before making a final splash.

HooRoo Run will close on October 31 to make room for Ray Rush. During construction, Walhalla Wave will close on October 31 and reopen along with Ray Rush in spring 2018. For a limited time, Aquatica Pass Members can receive a one-time Quick Queue to ride both HooRoo Run and Walhalla Wave on select dates in October before construction begins.
