Tango Gameworks’ popular 2014 survival horror game “The Evil Within” will be getting a sequel this year, and apparently, it’s going to provide a very different type of terrifying experience.
According to Studio Director at Tango Gameworks, Shinji Mikami, “The Evil Within 2” will be more of a “theme park ghost mansion” experience.
The sequel will provide a more open-world experience, as opposed to the linear story that was featured in “The Evil Within.” This will allow players to explore the haunted environments with free range, while wondering what lurks around every dark corner.
“In order to keep up the level of tension for the players, we made sure that all the enemies and adversaries are placed in certain locations that can really frighten our players in interesting ways,” Mikami said to Gamespot. “We’re always focused on keeping up the momentum overall.”
With excitement building for haunted attractions and horror events like Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios and Howl-o-Scream at Busch Gardens, “The Evil Within 2” will be the perfect way to take on a similar experience right in you own home once it is released October 13.
