“Now you will deal with me—and all the powers of my imagination!”
In celebration of the return of the popular nighttime extravaganza “Fantasmic!” to Walt’s original Magic Kingdom, the Disneyland Resort‘s VoluntEARS CANstruction team (made up of members from the Disneyland’s Design and Engineering team) will be erecting a ten-foot-tall sculpture of the one-and-only Maleficent— in dragon form, of course as part of this year’s “CANstruction Orange County” art show.
The dragon will be made entirely of canned goods and nonperishable items to benefit the OC Food Bank. Last year’s CANstruction event featured this gorgeous-looking Dory from “Finding Nemo,” plus Sadness from “Inside Out,” BB-8 from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” and the Mad Hatter from “Alice in Wonderland,” as seen in the images below.
This year marks the 10th Anniversary of CANstruction Orange County. The Maleficent dragon will be viewable from Sept. 2-24 at the South Coast Plaza shopping Mall in Costa Mesa, California. Be sure to visit the event’s official website for more information.
