A bit of Africa is heading to Texas, thanks to a new themed water park from Kalahari Resorts.
The company is set to open a hotel and convention center with an indoor water park in Round Rock, Texas, about 15 minutes north of Austin. The property will be the fourth Kalahari Resort in the United States, joining other locations in Sandusky, Ohio, Wisconsin Dells, and the recently-opened Poconos Mountains resort.
Kalahari Resorts are privately owned by CEO Todd Nelson and his family, who offer a warm and friendly vacation experience at each of their properties. Each year, the family travels to Africa to find new art, experiences, and ideas to create a unique experience for their resorts.
The new location in Round Rock will have 1,000 guest rooms, a spa, restaurants, retail, a fitness center, and a conference center. It’s expected to open by 2020.
