Today at D23 Expo 2017, the first teaser for the live-action version of “The Lion King” was revealed by Walt Disney Studios during its live-action presentation.
The “Lion King” teaser shown was a fairly faithful replication of opening from the original animated film – the famous “Circle of Life” sequence, complete with the world-renown song written by Elton John and Tim Rice.
“This movie will be completely respectful and faithful to the Lion King you know and love,” said studio chairman Alan Horn.
Director Jon Favreau took the stage. “Two years ago we showed you what we were thinking with ‘The Jungle Book.’ Thank you for trusting us with Lion King.”
Favreau seemed genuinely honored to be on stage and to bask in the warm reception of Disney fans at the biennial event in Anahem.
