The third movie in Pixar‘s succesful “Cars” franchise is hitting theaters this weekend, and as always, Disney held a star-studded press junket to promote its new animated film. This time the gathering was held at the Anaheim Convention Center, located across the street from the Disneyland Resort in Orange County, California, just steps away from Cars Land.

At the two-part press conference, “Cars 3” stars Owen Wilson (Lightning McQueen), Cristela Alonzo (Cruz Ramirez), Armie Hammer (Jackson Storm), Kerry Washingston (Natalie Certain), Larry the Cable Guy (Tow Mater), Nathan Fillion (Sterling), Lea DeLaria (Miss Fritter), and Isiah Whitlock Jr. (River Scott) were joined by director Brian Fee and producer Kevin Reher to discuss how “Cars 3” shifts the focus from Lightning McQueen to his new trainer Cruz Ramirez, and why it’s important to have strong female leads in animated family movies. NASCAR legend Ray Evernham served as moderator.
