I was about 10 -11 years old at the time. My parents took us to Freedom land from Long Island several times.

I remember the Stage Coach Rides and particularly Elsie the Cow. (I thought all cheese came from Freedomland.)

I never knew why it went away other than they eventually built the huge apartment buildings.

    Thanks for this project.

Visited Disneyland in 1957 and Freedomland in the early ’60s from south central Pennsylvania. Remember frontierland at both.

The black and white photo of Danny the Dragon with the carrousel in the background is not at Freedomland. Both were moved to Storytown USA in Lake George and this is a late 60s or early 70s photos. Thanks for crediting my Freedomland Facebook page! I happen to be in the b/w picture of the train!

Thanks for the insight. I’ve removed the image.

My favorite attraction was “La Casa Loca,” a small, walk-through attraction which produced disorientation and featured seemingly impossible sights, such as a gravity-defying waterfall. I believe the effects were achieved through the application of forced and false perspective, but I’m not sure and have never been able to find out. Can anyone shed some light?
