Star-Lord leans toward Gamora, with Rocket, Groot, and Drax close by in this Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 scene, channeling the spectacular energy and colorful style found in classic Drew Struzan movie posters—perfect for fans of Marvel attractions and cinematic adventures.

For “Star Wars” and “Guardians of the Galaxy” fans, one artist has once again created best of both worlds.

For the first “Guardians” film a few years ago, Matt Ferguson, graphic designer and artist, created a piece that juxtaposes the movie’s stars into the original poster art of 1977’s “Star Wars.” It was a commissioned piece that got a lot of attention.

Now Ferguson has created a new poster for sequels of both franchises. In a piece that could be argued as even more captivating than the first, Ferguson takes the characters in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” and places them in the classic positions of the poster art for “The Empire Strikes Back.”

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 poster designed in a retro, vintage-movie style, featuring Star-Lord, Gamora, Groot, Rocket, and Drax striking dynamic poses against a cosmic backdrop—evoking the excitement and nostalgia of classic theme park ride posters and immersive attraction artwork.

There is no sign that the piece will be made available to the public (just as the first). Ferguson indicated on Twitter that he won’t be printing the piece in a high resolution.

“Guardian of the Galaxy Vol. 2” debuts in theaters this weekend.
