“It’s five o’clock somewhere.” That’s the motto of Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville restaurant chain and of millions of “Parrothead” Jimmy Buffett fans around the globe. But this Thursday at Universal CityWalk’s brand new Margaritaville– the first of its kind in the state of California– it was almost exactly 5:00 PM when Jimmy Buffett himself took the stage to christen the new location.
Jimmy Buffet himself, who has been writing and performing music since the late 1960s, commented on the new restaurant’s opening: “Thanks to the great folks at Universal, we made it. It’s great to play at the opening and I look forward to visiting regularly on my journeys to the West Coast.”
