“The Little Mermaid” star Jodi Benson will perform at Marvin Hamlisch tribute concert in Orlando

Fans of “The Little Mermaid” have a chance to hear Ariel herself sing live this weekend in Orlando. On Saturday, April 1, Jodi Benson will perform with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra in “A Tribute to Marvin Hamlisch: One Singular Sensation.”

Benson worked with Hamlisch when he composed the music for the Broadway show “Smile,” in which Benson performed. He is best known for his work on “A Chorus Line” and “The Way We Were,” as well as a stint as Barbra Streisand’s music director. He passed in 2012.

Scarlett Strallen, who played Mary Poppins in the London stage version, will also be performing in the concert. There will be performances at 2pm and 8pm and tickets range from $17 – $78.
