Shigeru Miyamoto has been designing video games for Nintendo for forty years. From “Donkey Kong” to “Super Mario Bros.” to “The Legend of Zelda”, he has created some of the most iconic and memorable characters and franchises in gaming history. It’s no wonder he is now considered a legend of the medium.

American news website Vox sat down with Miyamoto this month to interview him about his craft, and to discuss the process of coming up with the groundwork for many of the most popular video games ever made.

Shigeru Miyamoto’s next upcoming project is “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” for the Nintendo Switch.
