At the Destination D panel earlier today, James Cameron and Imagineer, Joe Rohde, gave more details of what we can expect when Pandora–The World of Avatar opens in the summer of 2017. Giving the land “history,” both men explained in detail the story of a ravaged land in the process of being healed by the conservation efforts of its indigenous people and humans alike.

One of the personalities in the beautiful terrain, helping bring life back to the area, is the “Shaman and Songs.” Her musical talents help connect the “consciousness” of the forest, water, plant life, and animal species. These abilities will be primarily showcased on the river ride within Pandora, and we got our first look at the Shaman today.

Most realistic, even as a fictitious Na’vi Shaman, animatronic character I’ve ever seen.. Disney is doing some wild storytelling here!

    That actually -wasn’t- creepy. 🙂
Seriously, they can’t use Neytiri, since it’s too much trouble to license Zoe Saldana’s virtual image, so the fictitious character is a nice substitute.

  3. Ben

They should have got these guys to do the aliens in the new Star Wars movie. This one little clip was better than anything in that entire movie.
