Already saw the trailer in the theater back when Paramount was still going to release it, and while the stop-motion half was “nothing short of spellbinding”, the audience found the “Poor Little Yuppie Girl” subplot…rather shorter. There IS a reason Paramount orphaned this at the last minute. Frankly, I’m surprised they did still put it in the trailer, thought the studio was just going to sell the stop-motion and hide the modern stuff from the ads.
(And if you just want the story, the 1974 live-action-musical movie isn’t great, but at least it was the book, and not the condescending attempts to “update” it.)
