STK Steakhouse is a new fine dining restaurant that opened their Orlando location in May, 2016 at Disney Springs. It has a nice central location in the recently-opened The Landing section, right next to the hustle and bustle of Morimoto Asia.
STK has definitely branded themselves as an upscale steakhouse but they are also quick to point out that they aren’t the traditional type of steakhouse, but rather a fresh new take on the concept. STK likes to call itself a “vibe” restaurant which essentially means that the music and decor is just as much a part of the experience as the food. With the DJ beats being played all night long and the decor having a more modern chic feeling it’s quite easy to see why.
The restaurant is divided into two different seating areas, both with very different decor and “vibes”. The downstairs area is all purple mood lighting and sleek white leather booths. Upstairs you will get a much more casual vibe with hardwood floors and a green/white color palette. The restaurant also features plenty of outdoor seating on both levels.
So what about the food, our main reason for visiting the restaurant. I can sum it up in just two words: “luxurious deliciousness”. Our meal was a splendid experience in fine dining.
Every meal at STK starts of with a wonderful pull apart soft bread with a unique blue cheese butter.
The extensive drink list features a lot of signature cocktails, one of them is the Orlando Pride.
The Orlando Pride cocktail has the net proceeds benefit the victims and their families of the Pulse Nightclub shooting through the The OneOrlando Fund. The cocktail is a gin-based martini featuring fresh lemon juice, raspberries and egg whites for a full body, foamy head cocktail.
For appetizers our table tried some of the most classic signature pieces on the menu and they were all fantastic.
We also tried two of the salad courses which feature a unique blend of ingredients.
For the main entree I, of course, had to try the steak. The 16 oz sirloin steak is a huge piece of meat that comes cooked to perfection. As in any upscale dining venue you order your sides separately and I highly recommend that you order the Mac & Cheese and Sweet Corn Pudding as they were a huge hit at our table. STK also has a large selection of sauces you can order with your meal and they really compliment the steaks perfectly.
If you are not a steak person, STK still has some really superb options for you like the Grilled Chicken and Florida Grouper.
No meal is complete without dessert and STK has a great selection. From fresh and fruity options such as the Orange Dream Cheesecake to childhood favorites such as the Bag O’ Donuts with chocolate dipping sauce.
In conclusion I can say that STK is definitely a restaurant you should at least experience once. Lots of discussion has been going around about the prices and how expensive of a dining experience it is. Yes, STK is definitely not in the affordable group of dining but you get what you pay for here and that is some top quality cuisine. A visit to STK is the perfect “special occasion” dining event as both the food and decor makes you feel luxurious.
If you are looking for a restaurant to visit during your vacation that will make your celebration feel extra special, I would highly recommend STK.
