You can’t deny the charm of a good Jimmy Buffett song. Now, how about we take that charm and turn it into an entire resort? A tropical getaway smack-dab in the middle of Orlando, Florida!
Welcome to Margaritaville Resort Orlando:
This rendering of the new property coming to South Orlando was just revealed, and the resort will be located along U.S. Highway 192 near Toll Road 429 in Western Osceola County. Thrillgeek reports that the property features a 175-room Margaritaville hotel, 1,000 Margaritaville-themed vacation homes, 300 timeshare units, 30,000 sq. ft. of function space, 200,000 sq. ft. of retail space, a dining and entertainment district, 12-acre water park, wellness center, wooded fitness trails and a water taxi system. Not a bad way to spend a weekend, right?
The beautiful resort will also include a three-acre swimmable freshwater lagoon, which features natural sand beaches surrounded by cabanas and water activities, including paddle-boarding, snorkeling and more. This looks to be yet another tremendous way for tourists to escape to a resort that isn’t Universal or Disney-related.
Phase one of the project is projected to be complete by the end of 2017, and we absolutely can’t wait to give it a look for ourselves! So what do you think? Are you ready to waste away again in Margaritaville? Look for your lost shaker of salt? Let me know in the comments below!
