VIDEO: Unboxing a complete set of the new Lego Disney Minifigure series

Disney and Lego fans have been waiting for this moment for a long time. Sure, there have been a handful of Disney-themed Lego sets released in the past, but a full-fledged Disney Lego Minifigures series seemed like such a perfect idea, so it was only a matter of time.

The set is finally hitting stores (with an official release date of May 1st) so we can now get our hands on the impressively-detailed figures, scaled perfectly to the thousands of existing Lego System sets that are out there already. Included in this series are characters from “Toy Story,” “The Incredibles,” “Alice in Wonderland,” “Peter Pan,” “Aladdin,” “The Little Mermaid,” and of course Mickey Mouse and his pals, among others.

It’s very exciting to have so many of these characters available in officially-sanctioned Lego form. If the series performs well (and of course it will, knowing the habits of Disney and Lego collectors) it seems hopeful that we will see further releases, along the lines of how Lego has handled “The Simpsons” license. Fortunately Disney has a vast wealth of franchises and characters for Lego to select from in the future.

Feel sorry for you there. Had you got them at the Lego Store, you would have got the VIP points that came with each bag = $5 off w/ 100 VIP points.
    Anyway, nice review.

That’s awesome! Super jealous! I might have to check Target on the way home and see if they have them out yet. 🙂

I’m still watching your videos so I apologize if you spill the beans in their later…but….what’s your secret for identifying the figs before opening? Is it just by feel? Or do you have some other method?

Really you just want to identify the unique pieces that each character has. I talk about it a little bit in the video, but for example with Captain Hook you can feel for his sword and his hat, which are pretty unique in this series. It also helps if you are very familiar with the sizes and shapes of Lego pieces, and that only comes with a lifetime of experience. 😉

Why is Stich by himself where is Lilo? Every other character has a partner.

Did you get these in advance or did you really buy them off the shelves at Target this week? I’ve been to two targets in my area in VA and they both stress they are not allowed to put the Disney minifigs on the shelves until 1 May 🙁
