This new water play area at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter looks fun!

As if staying at the Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter wasn’t fun enough, Walt Disney World has recently opened up an all-new aquatic play area for the kids to cool off with everyone’s favorite activity: splashing!

As the Disney Parks Blog points out, it’s open just in time for the hotter weather — all the more reason for the little ones to get wet and wild:

Decked out in the bold hues of Mardi Gras gold, purple and green, this new aquatic play area lets guests 48 inches and under enjoy water slides that are just their size, play with fun water cannons, and splish-splash among fountains.

Ah, to be a kid again! This new area is located right by the Doubloon Lagoon pool so the kids can double up on the good times while getting drenched.

We stayed there over the weekend and got to walk by and check it out, looked very well done, the King Triton slide was being worked on that day, not sure if that is back up or not in the Pool Area. But the Splash area was very fun looking!

French Quarter is my favorite resort, and I’m trying to picture where the Splash area would be–
The water slide is practically the only thing Disney’s travel marketing ever shows from the resort, so it’s nice to have more to sell parents on it away from Riverside.

  3. I’m glad that kids get a play area, but couldn’t it have been integrated a little better into the resort’s aesthetics? That looks like the same cheap, candy-coated playgrounds that we have back here at home. Surely they could have come up with one that looks like a Mardi Gras float or something.
