Ok, confession time: we’re stuffed.
Seriously park-goers, we had so much amazing food at SeaWorld Orlando’s Bands, Brew & BBQ that we may need a nap (or a coma) after writing this article. Fortunately for you guys, we have all the food pics and video footage you could ever need of this year’s rockin-delicious extravaganza!
We were lucky enough to sample some of the more creative concoctions of SeaWorld Orlando’s very own Executive Chef, Hector Colon like his Smoked Brisket Waffle Cone: slow smoked sliced beef brisket and jalapeno cheesy mashed potatoes piled high in a crispy waffle cone and topped with a zesty BBQ sauce — we were in heaven.
As you can see in the image below, Colon was having a lot of fun with those cones. Can you spot a Chicken Waffle Cone? How about a Warm Apple Crisp, which was essentially sliced red apples and cranberries baked and topped with a sweet oatmeal crumb topping, all served in (you guessed it) a waffle cone!
Another fun little creation was the Corn Chip Chili Pie: kind of a taco salad that lived in a scalped bag of Fritos. After trying it, you will immediately want to create a batch for your next house party.
The event takes place every Saturday and Sunday, February 13 through March 6 and features live concerts from top classic rock and country musical artists, tasty BBQ and thirst-quenching brews, and special discounts for active duty military and veterans — they’re in partnership with USO Central Florida and honors America’s heroes.
In addition to the signature acts and festivities, it looks like SeaWorld is switching things up a bit this year. The event also will feature a secondary stage to showcase local bands, and a DJ spinning music for guests to line dance, or in our case, trip over yourself and flail majestically. Special packages will include a BBQ Tasting Sampler (where guests can choose up to five menu items from SeaWorld’s sampler selections at any of the Bands, Brew & BBQ food locations for $20), a Craft Brew Sampler (sample 10 ice-cold craft beers from a selection of more than 30 brews for $30), or combine them both like a boss for the BBQ Tasting and Craft Brew Sampler for only $35.
The cool part is, enlisted men and women, and veterans can take 50% off the standard price of their 2016 Fun Card (SeaWorld’s annual pass) and 10% off special sampler Bands, Brew & BBQ packages. The event is included with regular park admission. For more details, check out wavesofhonor.com.
