Paramount Pictures has announced the theatrical release dates for the next three movies currently in development in the “Transformers” franchise.

  • The next chapter in the saga, “Transformers 5”, is slated for release on June 23, 2017 with Michael Bay returning to the director’s chair and Mark Wahlberg set to return as well. Lorenzo di Bonaventura will produce the film.
  • A new stand-alone, “origin story” film about Bumblebee is projected for June 8, 2018. According to Hasbro’s Allspark Pictures, this story of how Bumblebee came to be has never been told before.
  • On June 28, 2019, a proper “Transformers” sequel will be released.

The franchise has been a huge hit since the first chapter in the film series arrived in theaters back in 2007 and has gone on to gross billions of dollars globally.
