If you missed out on celebrating November 3rd, you’re in luck! You can enjoy National Sandwich Day, any day you choose. It’s one of those obscure “national holidays” that’s recognized by many, yet lacking in its momentum to become the next Valentines Day or Halloween. Cheer to all things between two slices of bread!
The sandwich is the most versatile types of food category, mostly because the options are literally limitless. From the types of bread, to the meats, veggies, cheeses, sauces or spreads… hot or cold, toasted or grilled… and it just goes on and on into a never-ending foodie vortex.
Luckily for guests visiting Universal Orlando CityWalk, they have an incredibly flavorful selection ready and waiting for them at Bread Box. Here are two examples of their wonders between the slices.
This eatery opened last year as part of the restaurant resurgence that’s being going on at the dining and entertainment complex. This cozy little sandwich shop on the second level of CityWalk caters to a wide-array of hand crafted sandwiches, all built to order and customizable to your specific liking. The menu is simple, but dynamic. You have sandwiches and fries, soup and salads along with side items of chips or apple chips, coleslaw, potato salad and a fruit cup for the healthier side of sides. With Coca-Cola soft drinks being served along with a selection of iced teas, they also can serve you a glass of wine or pour a few draft beer.
It’s easy to find yourself satisfied with the offerings of Bread Box, but that doesn’t make deciding what to order any easier. Especially when it comes to the sugary side of life. The freshly baked chocolate chip cookie is a great choice, but it’s the milkshakes that transport you to a sweet spot on cloud 9. Even though the selection is between (what would seem) a basic chocolate or vanilla, it becomes so much more when reading the ingredients for the chocolate shake. It’s called the Chocolate hazelnut shake and embodies what dessert dreams are made of; Nutella, french vanilla ice cream, milk, whipped cream, chocolate crumbles. Sounds simple, but its not. The flavors blend in a thick and creamy sweet escape from your senses that’ll have you dumfounded at how amazing this creation is.
It packs the wow factor you’re looking for, and just about everything else does as well. The service is exceptional, with a friendly and knowledgable staff that’s always willing to go out of their way to help you decide between melt vs. deli, fries or soup, or any combination. They’ll suggest what the crowd favorites are, or what customers order the most.

The retro, almost 50’s feel of the place with its bright colors and quirky atmosphere all play into the enjoyment of your meal. Its all day dining so you can grab a sandwich for lunch, dinner, or a late night bite after you’ve danced off your last meal. Its the kind of place where you’ll walk out stuffed, without breaking the bank and feeling completely satisfied. Even the little kiddos can join in with sandwiches made their size.
