The Walt Disney World Resort is known for the extravagant decorations around the holiday season. With giant Christmas trees and hundreds of hanging wreaths, another popular and well-known decoration are the multiple gingerbread houses on property.
Designed by the executive pastry chef, Erich Herbitschek, this house took over 1,050 lbs. of honey, 800 lbs. of flour, 600 lbs. of chocolate, 600 lbs. of powdered sugar, 140 pints of egg whites, and 35 lbs. of spices! Oh, and don’t forget the pinch of Pixie Dust and dash of Disney Magic mixed in as well.
The gingerbread house also has a working store on the inside where guests can buy sweet treats, like gingerbread shingles, when stepping to the backside of the house. Other items available for purchase include these limited edition pins.
Erich Herbitschek will be in the main lobby of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa on Nov. 21 from 1:00p.m. to 2:00 p.m. signing cookbooks. Limited edition trading pins will also be available during these time.
