Disney buys new land across the street from Disneyland, what could it mean for the future

Slashfilm.com is reporting that Disney just purchased some land across the street from Disneyland, speculating on its potential use:

“So what might this mean for Disneyland Resort? According to the Anaheim Planning Department, the 158,708-square-foot building on the new land purchased will be used for office and warehouse support for Disney’s theme park and hotel operations. And we have heard previously that the Pumbaa Parking Lot is going to become a new parking structure that the resort desperately needs at this point.

Okay, so so far not too exciting right? But if Disneyland is offloading its backstage offices to this area this means they could build new attractions in some of the areas in Disneyland resort which currently house their backstage offices.”

Behind the Carousel Inn? Sounds like Pumbaa parking and office.
The article speculated that there might be some private cross-Harbor Blvd. walkway from the parking to the entrance–“Maybe a Thor rainbow bridge!” Oh, just stop. 🙂

(Besides, after #2, if there’s any future Marvel at DLR, we can be pretty well guaranteed it WON’T be Thor.)

This is old news; Disney had bought this area of land last summer.
