The live-action remake movie train continues at Disney with two more animated movies joining the lineup: Aladdin and Sword in the Stone.
Sword in the Stone is an animated classic from 1963 telling the tale about the wizard Merlin and his apprentice Arthur. It was the final movie released before Walt Disney’s death and it will now see new light as an live-action movie produced by Brigham Taylor. According to the HollywoodReporter Game of Thrones writer Brian Cogman has been hired to write the script for the project.
The live-action remake of Aladdin will be more of a prequel to the 1992 animated hit movie. According to Hollywood Reporter Walt Disney Studios is developing Genies, a live-action comedy adventure that will reveal how Aladdin’s Genie ended up enslaved in the lamp. The project is being written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift and Disney is hoping this will lead to a live-action movie of Aladdin.
