Live-action remakes of classic Disney animation movies seems to be our future when you think about all the new movies that have been announced in recent months. On the way are live-action remakes of Beauty and the Beast, Dumbo, Jungle Book, just to name a few. Therefore it doesn’t come as a huge surprise that Disney has now given the green go light to a sequel to the surprise hit from last year “Maleficent”. Worldwide the movie made more than $750 million and Angelina Jolie got to carry the mantle of being the devious but misunderstood villain.

Maleficent, dressed in her signature black horned costume, grins while a lifelike black raven perches beside her in an enchanting dimly lit scene—capturing the dark magic and excitement fans love at Disney Parks.

For the sequel Disney has re-hired screenwriter Linda Woolverton, who wrote the script for the first reimagining of the Sleeping Beauty fairytale. No word yet if Angelina Jolie will return as Maleficent though, we will just have to wait and see.
