My first reaction to this was “boring” and “yawn” but then I looked at the pictures and it looks kind of cool inside. I love the speedboat that is the booth! And I love those classic style amphibious cars! This looks like a neat place. But, if someone asked me out and said we were going to “The Boathouse” it just does not sound exciting.

They did a nice job with it though and I think it would exceed my expectations.

Having been a Cast Member for 19 yrs. aboard the Empress Lilly Riverboat, and
now Retired after 37 yrs. I’d have to say,”What’s-up with this? Where’s the Quaint and Beautiful “Village” that once existed around there? It use to be a quiet and relaxing place to go, after a hectic day at the Theme Parks. Now it’s a Circus and another Crazy Theme Park. Those of us, that were Proud of our Beautiful work environment, who still hold an original Certificate of “Plank Ownership” given to us, back in 1977, when Disney proudly opened the Empress Lilly. Mrs. Lillian Disney, a Wonderful Lady, was present, to Christian The Boat
It’s now called “Fulton’s Crab House” and all the original Elegance is gone!
For those of you, that had the honor of Experiencing the Empress Lilly, there is nothing to compare! It was the Classiest place in Orlando, and I for one, was so
Proud and Honored to be chosen to be part of the Original Crew, for the opening.
Approx. 80% of the Crew stayed there all 19 yrs. We were a Family!
So, it breaks my heart, to see the “Village” become just another Theme Park!!!
I’m not saying that this new “Boathouse” isn’t good; I’m just Disappointed!!
Thank you for your time… Good Luck

    $125 for a 20 minute ride on a boat/car!?!?!? Insanity!

You say it’s $125/person but I’ve found on other sites where it’s says $125 for up to 3 guest. Can you clarify, please? $125/person for a 20 minute ride seems nutty, even by Disney standards…
