Woo-oo! “DuckTales” to return in new Disney TV series in 2017

Disney Afternoon fans rejoice! “DuckTales” is returning to TV.

Today Disney announced an all-new DuckTales TV series is being developed for Disney XD to debut in 2017.

Scrooge McDuck and his nephews discover glittering gold inside a cave as a helicopter swoops in overhead, bringing to life the thrill and excitement of the 2017 DuckTales Disney Channel adventure—just like an immersive attraction at Disney Parks.

The series will bring back all the classic characters, including Huey, Dewey, Louie, Launchpad, Gyro, Flintheart Glomgold, Magica DeSpell, Webbigail, the Beagle Boys, and – of course – Scrooge McDuck!

“DuckTales has a special place in Disney’s TV animation history, it drew its inspiration from Disney Legend Carl Barks’ comic books and through its storytelling and artistic showmanship, set an enduring standard for animated entertainment that connects with both kids and adults,” said Marc Buhaj—Senior Vice President, Programming and General Manager, Disney XD. “Our new series will bring that same energy and adventurous spirit to a new generation.”
