Rosen Centre Hotel debuts new ‘Holidays on Ice’ skating show with a “Frozen” connection

The Rosen Centre Hotel on Orlando’s International Drive has a few new treats for this Christmas season. Located next to the Orange County Convention Center, the hotel features nine restaurants and lounges as well as an Olympic-size tropical outdoor swimming pool. Its central location is a great place to stay if you are planning on visiting Orlando theme parks and attractions. But during this month, there are a few extra reasons to visit.

The hotel’s new ice skating show, Holidays on Ice, debuted recently. With the help of Alex Wilfand producing the show, Rosen Centre Hotel is adding this new fun-filled, interactive Ice Skating Show to their line up of events this year. Wilfand recently worked with Disney on several occasions including being a part of the cast of ‘Disney On Ice‘ and helped produce the ‘Oakens Cousins on Ice‘ skating show for the Frozen Summer Fun Live event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Holidays on Ice‘ at the Rosen Center Hotel is a 45-minute ice skating show featuring several themed acts set to different songs with a multitude of costume changes. It’s an entertaining show, despite the rink’s smaller size and being made out of a synthetic skating material, which makes it better for our Florida weather. The Holidays on Ice show is held out in the attractive pool area of the hotel with the building itself being apart of the show with lots of colorful projection lights.

Compared to big skating performances we see on TV, this show is focused more on being comedic and lighthearted rather than on showing off the skaters technical skills. They even included a performance in the show poking fun at those serious ice skating competitions.

The price for the event is $25 (children under 3 get in for free).

You can catch the show on these dates:

  • Thursdays, December 4, 11, 18, 25 at 6:00PM
  • Fridays, December 5, 12, 19, 26 at 6:00PM & 7:30 PM
  • Saturdays, December 6, 13, 20, 27 at 6:00 PM & 7:30 PM
  • Sundays, December 7, 14, 21, 28 at 6:00 PM
  • Special Shows: Wednesday, December 31 at 9:00 PM

The hotel is also beautifully decorated for Christmas with lots of lights and shimmering Christmas trees. It’s definitely worth a visit to see.

Seems a bit overpriced for an ice skating show on a small, synethic rink. But I guess outside of the Disney parks and the Gaylord resort and ICE! display, there aren’t too many Winter / Christmas atteactions. Really wish Florida would up it’s game.
