With a new menu inspired by tastes from the islands, Harry’s Poolside Bar and Grill at the Rosen Centre Hotel on Orlando’s famed International Drive doesn’t disappoint.
With a cool breeze blowing on a hot Florida summer day, drink in hand and spiced up food dished out, the new eatery delivers an enjoyable impression of traveling to the Caribbean to enjoy some downtime. It’s a nice change of pace from the busy streets surrounding the convention center just outside the hotel.
A grand opening celebration featured hand rolled cigars, steel drums, some dancing, and a quick ribbon cutting to mark the occasion. Owner Harris Rosen was on hand to tell the story of how this hotel and its restaurants are a family affair, named after close relatives and inspired by a rich history dating back more than 100 years to Harry Rosenofsky’s arrival to the United States in New York. Harris is Harry’s grandson, now proud of his accomplishments in Orlando calling them a true American dream.
But inside Harry’s Poolside Bar and Grill, guests won’t find American fare. Instead a mix of bold flavors across carved meats, sandwiches, seafood, and delightful desserts. Among the best is the Penne Pasta Martinique, a blend of cultures with quite a kick. Chicken and pulled pork sliders are just as good. The menu is a great mix of quick bites and bigger dishes, perfect for poolside dining.
A full service bar also sits inside, mixing just about any drink imaginable. The mojitos are particularly refreshing when it’s so hot outside.
Anyone in the area is encouraged to stop by for a bite and to lounge by the pool, even if not staying at this hotel. In fact, coupled with the Rosen Centre’s sushi bar and recently remodeled lobby bar and lounge, there’s a lot to look forward to in a visit here, even for a local simply looking to get away for a while.
