New Orlando haunted house announced for Halloween – Nightmares at the Majestic to take over where Terror on Church Street left off

New terrors await Orlando this Halloween season as a new haunted house has been announced, called Nightmares at the Majestic.

Those who have followed Orlando’s haunted attraction scene for many years fondly remember the old year-round Terror on Church Street, which closed in 1999. Alan Ostrander was that haunt’s character & make-up designer, performer, and show manager, now returning to the United States after 13 years developing haunted attractions in Hong Kong to produce this new endeavor.

Together with his team at AEO Studios, Ostrander is developing Nightmares at the Majestic in the style of the original Terror on Church Street, to be located at the Majestic Event Center on John Young Parkway and West Colonial Dr. The new attraction is scheduled to be open 24 nights in October 2014, featuring a haunted house and nightly party along with other entertainment.

Nightmares at the Majestic is described as “a total sensory overload of terror like you have never experienced before.” Its story will surround “a gathering of another kind — Spirits, Evil, Dementia and Madness.”

Details are scarce as to specifically what this new attraction will include, but other members of the original Terror on Church Street team will also be part of its creation.

The Nightmares at the Majestic web site is available at GoNightmares.com. They already have a Twitter account (@NightmaresHaunt) and will be launching an indiegogo campaign soon to raise funds for the event.
