Universal Orlando adds free Wi-Fi to theme parks, new app offers realtime ride wait times

Just in time for the opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley, Universal Orlando has rolled out free Wi-Fi across both of its theme parks and CityWalk in support of its official new mobile app.

The mobile application offers realtime wait-times for attractions for those within the park (enabled via GPS) along with interactive park maps, available as a free download for Apple and Android mobile devices.

In addition, free park-wide mobile Internet access, via Xfinity Wi-Fi, is now found throuhgout at Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios Florida, and Universal CityWalk. Guests should simply look for “xfinitywifi” to connect.

Universal’s app will soon also add shopping, customizable itineraries, social sharing and more.
