Are they taking in account the prices of tickets are different?

    1. Ricky Brigante

No, these results are not adjusted for inflation.

Yeah, I’ve never really trusted those adjusted for inflation numbers. Ticket prices here in L.A. have been the same for the last 8 years, with a slight increase since 2001. I paid the same amount to watch Toy Story 3 than I did with Frozen.

That´s right, prices have inceaased only slightly since Toy Story 3. But Toy Story 3 is not the one to beat – it´s The Lion King from 1994 (average ticket price: 4.18 dollars!) The Lion King will never be touched (btw, the Musical made an estimated 5 billion dollars, another figure that is pretty hard to beat…)

You are saying “million” at the beginning of this article.

    1. Ricky Brigante

      $1,072.4 million = $1.07 billion.

I am really happy Disney even though they’ve made tons of money on a lot of their other animated movies, it is still a great accomplishment.

I meant to say happy for Disney

With all the money Disney is making they should give their resort employees a pay increase rather than paying minimum wage. They are the hardest working people. They make the parks perfect for the guest and no one takes them into consideration. The unions are in cahoots with the corporation and keep the cast members a little bit over minimum wage (cents over). Its sad when most cast members need state assistance to supplement their income paid by Disney. Its the little people that make Disney. And no I’m not a cast member.

Sure, and Rush hour 2 made more money than Gone with the wind… Unadjusted numbers make no sense at all.

True, but in the days of “Gone with the Wind,” waiting for the DVD was not an option. As a result, if you wanted to see a movie back then at all, you paid to see it in the theater or waited until it was re-released several years later. And don’t quote me on this, but I’m pretty sure “Gone with the Wind” wasn’t a victim of piracy the way movies today are. The culture of movies has evolved so much over several decades, comparing box-office numbers is only effective between movies released within a few years of each other.

As a sequel for this amazing movie is highly anticipated, Disney should work on it. But great care must be taken to keep it away from mainstream movies – just like they successfully did to Frozen(2013). And one more thing – personally I, and I think many other fans, would like to see Elsa find her true love in the sequel, just like her sister Anna found Kristoff, with magnificent style!

  8. I’m actually glad this movie was successful. I think it’s a great movie. Personally. what’s truly inspirational about it is the fact that you are taught that princesses don’t need princes to have a “true” love. The person they really love just simply be their sister. This movie shows that women can be independent and don’t nessacarily need a “prince” to have a happily ever after ending. It’s a sweet movie!!!
