With Disney Interactive staying silent on new news for Disney Infinity so far this year, several unconfirmed reports of the future of the popular game have emerged.
The Walt Street Journey is citing “people close to the company” who state that Disney Interactive will soon lay off hundreds of employees following the departure of former co-president John Pleasants.
The article also mentions that Marvel and Star Wars will be coming to the Disney Infinity game, but offers no further details.
A recent job posting also suggests that a Disney Infinity sequel will be released later this year, with Infinity game developer Avalanche Software looking to hire testers for the next 4-5 months. Though the job listing doesn’t specifically mention Infinity, it’s a smart assumption as the game is the primary project that Disney subsidiary Avalanche is working on now.
The listing also notes that the game will be available for the newest generation of consoles, Xbox One and Playstation 4, as well as Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Wii U – not 3DS or Wii.
