A thrill-seeker in a pink bikini takes on Ihu's Breakaway Falls, the tallest and most daring waterslide at Aquatica Orlando, her expression a mix of surprise and exhilaration as she plunges downward—with an airplane soaring overhead to add to the excitement of this unofficial rite of passage for adrenaline junkies.

SeaWorld Orlando has announced their newest Aquatica water park attraction called Ihu’s Breakaway Falls will open on May 9, offering new thrills unlike any other slide of its kind.

At nearly 80 feet tall, Ihu’s Breakaway Falls will be the tallest, steepest and only multi-drop tower slide of its kind in the southern United States, according to SeaWorld. Guests will step into one of three clear “breakaway boxes,” watching each other fall one-by-one as the floor underneath them disappears, not knowing who’s going to breakaway first.

“With four unique slide paths, Ihu’s Breakaway Falls brings a whole new level of thrill to Aquatica Orlando,” said Bryan Nadeau, Aquatica Orlando vice president. “Riders can step into three breakaway boxes or test their bravery on a fourth open slide for a different, but just as thrilling experience. No matter which slide you choose, once you get to the top, the only way down is down.”

Ihu’s Breakaway Falls will feature a vertical drop for nearly 40 feet, the steepest in the southern United States and four completely different slide paths. Once the floor disappears, riders will drop 20-24 feet per second. It will be the only high-speed water thrill slide in the world that propels guests through four 360-degree spirals.

Thrill-seekers geared up inside translucent capsules at the top of Breakaway Falls, Aquatica Orlando’s tallest and most daring water slide, moments before their heart-pounding plunge.
