Ok I am NOT a fan of Mickey Very Merry Christmas! If someone is considering i,t I would say do NOT pay the extra money honestly. The problem is everybody is at the parade the same time, everybody at the castle at the the same time, and thousands of people at the same time equals thousands of children who can’t see anything and then are extremely upset! I now have a very sad child with autism who can’t pull it together! I honestly think it’s way better to take advantage of extra magic hours and save hundreds of dollars!!!! I even saw a little girl in a wheelchair on a vent that couldn’t see from the mass rows of people ahead of her while her mom tried to calm her :((( Disney you dropped the ball on this one!
I understand your frustration and the last thing you want to hear is how you might have to spend more money to solve this very merry christmas party problem for children with challenges but… here I go … buy tickets to the terrace dessert party during a very merry xmas party events..yes that means 2 tickets per person but… you’ll get a buffet of deserts, drinks and as long as you approach the railings on time… a perfect unfettered view of the fireworks. Ask the cast members when you should grab your rail spot… you may have to have one of your family members stand at a “corner” rail spot a bit early and ward off others who might stand next to them while your family sits at a table enjoying their food/drink. Then put your kid at the corner spot and they then should have more than just a front facing view but a bit of a diagonal side view as well.
I am taking my children for their first time, can you fill me in more on your terrace desert party suggestion? Im about to buy the tix to very merry, we also are going on a Monday 12/16th so I don’t think it will be over crowded do you?
Thx!
It will be crowded. Don’t bother with riding rides, just enjoy the special events. Be in front of Castle for firework and light show or you will miss a lot. Be sure to plan out touring strategy and set your phone to go off 45 minutes prior to each event so you have time to get to a good viewing spot. This is once in a lifetime ie your children will never be this age again. Although we didn’t do this for this years visit I recommend paying the extra for terrace desert party for better viewing or take your dinner with you and eat at the viewing spot you’ve chosen. this will take up some time while you are just sitting there.
The park closes early on mvmcp nights so you have to purchase a seperate ticket. All the other guests have to leave before the party starts. Just don’t use one of you park days there. Wait until 4pm and then go in with your party ticket. That is the earliest we were allowed in and it ends at midnight giving you plenty of time in the park.
We went to the party 11/11 and it was our first time ever at magic kingdom. It was truly magical and worth every penny! It was hard not to get a good view of parade and shows. There is a good view from everywhere. We can’t wait until next year to go back. We got a reservation at be our guest for dinner before the party too! But next year we will skip dinner at the party because it took up too much time and we had to miss out on character meets in order to catch all the shows. Nothing could top our first experience at Wdw! My 2 and 3 year olds had a blast!
You said to get a good view of the events, “buy tickets to the terrace dessert party during a very merry xmas party events..” What time are the fireworks? What time should I be a the restaurant.
I’m going to the Very Merry Christmas Party this year with my husband and a five year old. Can you give me ideas for the best way to go so I don’t lose my mind. I know there will be thousands of people there.
So in order to attend the mvmcp, do you need to purchase a park pass and then the 62$ mvmcp pass also?
I want to take my parents and gf, would it be 4x$62??
Could anyone tell me what is a better option in terms of being less busy….we are there from 17-23 DEC. Should we do MVMCP on 17th or save the money and just do a regular day on Sat 22nd to see the Christmas parade. If we did MVMCP we probably would avoid the parks on 21 and 22. We really want to see the Christmas parade but just want to chose the better day!
Emma, I would do the MVMCP on the 17th. yes it will be crowded, but the 22nd will be much more crowded. Can’t see how you could enjoy yourself on the 22nd. we were there last year, the entire week of Christmas is unbearable, especially if you have small children..
We just went to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party last night, Thursday, December 12th, and it was awesome. It was not crowded. The weather was sweater weather only. There were no lines for any of the rides. We got on every ride we wanted to get on with the longest wait for any ride only about 5 minutes. We rode Space Mountain 3 times, Splash Mountain 3 times, Thunder Mountain railroad, The Haunted Mansion, The Pirates of the Caribbean, The Jingle Cruise, The Carousel, and a few others without any wait. We also saw the entire amazing fireworks show without issue, and we saw the entire parade from the street without any obstruction issues with plenty of room to either side of us for others. It seems that when you go matters because unlike the unfortunate negative experiences I read about here, our experience was awesome. We even took 30 minutes out to eat at one of the restaurants ( The Lunching Pad ) without any wait for our food or difficulty finding a table for the 4 of us to eat. We’ll definitely be going back. Our experience was fortunately amazing.
