Universal Studios Hollywood made two surprise late-night announcements for Halloween Horror Nights 2013, revealing all-new scare zones to be featured at this year’s eerie event.

“This is your emergency broadcast system, announcing the commencement of the annual Purge. “At the siren, all emergency services will be suspended for 12 hours. Your government thanks you for your participation.”

The Purge will be a murder-filled scare zone that guests will pass through at the front of the park, replicating events from the recent movie. As part of each night’s “Opening Scare-a-mony,” the Purge will commence when Horror Nights begins, sending groups of excited guests to their imminent doom just beyond the turnstiles.

Chucky takes center stage on a woman's lap in a wheelchair, bringing horror to Universal Studios Hollywood's "Curse of Chucky" Halloween Horror Nights 2013 poster.

In the Baker Street area of the park, the Curse of Chucky will take over in a new scare zone based on the upcoming movie of the same name.

Universal Studios Hollywood promises more mazes and scare zones will be announced soon.
