World of Color to receive “Winter Dreams” makeover at Disneyland with Olaf from “Frozen” hosting all-new show

Experience the dazzling "Winter Dreams" spectacular at Disneyland, where beloved Frozen and Toy Story characters appear amidst brilliant lights and festive decor inspired by World of Color magic.

Today the Disneyland Resort has announced a major update to the popular “World of Color” nighttime show at Disney California Adventure entirely themed to the Christmas season.

Beginning November 15, 2013, World of Color will feature the new character Olaf from the upcoming Disney film “Frozen” taking guests on a trip through a winter wonderland of holiday entertainment, dubbed “Winter Dreams.”

Steve Davison, vice president of Parades and Spectaculars, Walt Disney Imagineering Creative Entertainment, explains the new version in the video below.

“I am so excited to be bringing new magic to ‘World of Color’ this holiday season,” said Davison. “The brand-new show is filled with great music, new effects and, of course, all the magnificence of the ‘World of Color’ fountain and projection system. It’s going to be a very powerful and amazing experience for guests of all ages.”

Classic winter scenes will include beloved Disney films as “Bambi,” “Fantasia” and “Toy Story” along with new special effects.

Olaf from Frozen gleefully glides across shimmering ice as the spectacular "Winter Dreams" and "World of Color" light shows illuminate the sky above him, all set against a dazzling blue icy backdrop reminiscent of Disneyland’s enchanting winter celebrations.

Elsa from Frozen, dazzling in her blue gown as sparkling snowflakes swirl across water screens, is the centerpiece of World of Color: Winter Dreams at Disneyland Resort, illuminated by vibrant blue fountains.

Deer and rabbit characters from Winter Dreams are animated across a snowy backdrop, dazzling guests on stage with shimmering blue lights, bringing the magical aura of Disneyland’s World of Color spectacular to life.

Woody and the iconic three-eyed green aliens from Toy Story present colorful wrapped gifts onstage during World of Color – Winter Dreams, as vibrant lights, dazzling fountains, and bursts of color illuminate Disneyland for an unforgettable nighttime spectacular.

Experience the enchantment of Winter Dreams at Disneyland as a vibrant stage lights up with “JOY JOY JOY,” lively music notes, and Olaf the snowman joyfully smiling and waving, perfectly capturing the festive energy of World of Color.
