First look inside Transformers: The Ride 3D given in Universal Orlando preview offering a sneak peak at new queue props

A glowing artifact encased in glass, surrounded by “Danger High Voltage” and “North E3” signs, creates an electrifying ambiance for the Transformers: The Ride 3D experience at Universal Orlando.

In recent weeks, little by little, Universal Orlando has been revealing pictures and video clips from inside Transformers: The Ride 3D via Facebook and Twitter. But last night, just hours after announcing upcoming annual passholder previews, the doors were opened to team members – Universal’s employees – from 7pm to 10pm, and again this morning from 7am – 9pm.

Following the sneak preview, we picked up a stray transmission from inside the N.E.S.T. facility, providing a first look inside the queue, which features several rooms designed to recruit theme park guests to help the Autobots protect the Allspark from the evil Decepticons.

Transformers: The Ride 3D has already been open at Universal Studios Hollywood since May 2012 and the experiences on both coasts are now revealed to be nearly identical. The Orlando queue features the same rooms, configured a bit differently with a few new props, but the ride is essentially the same, with upgraded projection technology.

Though the grand opening of Transformers: The Ride 3D is still roughly a month away, it’s easy to see what it will be like by simply traveling back to one year ago, May 2012, at the opening of the attraction in Hollywood.

While we await the opening of the ride here in Orlando, the walkthrough video below of the queue in the Hollywood park offers a perfect comparison to the images above – and also includes a complete trip aboard the ride (though the ride itself really needs to be seen in person to be appreciated, given its enormous 3D imagery).

And for one last sneak peek, another stray transmission arrived early this morning from an anonymous N.E.S.T. operative, revealing the evil lord Megatron, as he appears on the ride, along with a few other large props and areas:

Team member previews have ended and the ride did not soft open for guests. There are rumblings that it could still open early, a few days prior to the upcoming annual passholder previews, but only rumors for now.

Transformers: The Ride 3D is scheduled to grand open at Universal Orlando on June 20, 2013. Check back between now and then for a complete inside look at the new attraction.
