I am so excited for this! I traveled to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Florida for the first time last year and had the time of my life. I can’t wait for this one to be built though because it’s only about a five and a half hour drive from me! I’ll be getting an annual pass once it’s complete!! I do think the shops could be a bit bigger, but then again, the shops in the movie weren’t that big. Let’s not take too much away from the magic! I think they should add the Hogs Head too…with some firewhisky for those of us who are over 21 😉
I want them to have the Hogwarts banquet hall. I want to eat in there like I am a student. I would sit at the Hufflepuff table because that is where the sorting hat would put me. I want to drink my pumpkin juice in there at that table and look at the candles floating in the air. That is my dream come true.
Potter aside, Hollywood’s Curious George area is a LOT of children’s play-area, a relic from back when Universal thought George would end up being a bigger movie than just the PBS pilot.
I’m sure the preschoolers will have somewhere new and more out-of-the-way to climb around, but Hogwarts won’t lack for space on the West coast.
(What was the Gibsons theater used for, btw? Only been to USH one or two times in the last few years, so not sure of the geography.)
The Gibson is used for award shows like the MTV Movie awards and its Video music awards. Other awards are often shot there. It’s mainly a concert venue with big acts from all around the world come to play. Hope that clears it up for you

Let’s hope common sense lessons have been learnt and that they make the stores in the attraction a lot bigger than in Florida.
“Sardines in a Can” sprang to mind as my family and I had to exit Ollivanders via the Owl Post store (more like a broom cupboard) back in 2010.
