With Star Wars Celebration VI just over two weeks away from beginning in Orlando, details on exhibitors and panels have been revealed and Disney will once again have a big part in the massive convention, both with presentations and exclusive merchandise.
Disney will be part of two panel presentations, one on upcoming theme park merchandise and the other offering a behind-the-scenes look at Star Tours: The Adventures Continue:
Disney Parks & Star Wars – This is Where the Magic Begins
Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, 3-4pm, Behind the Scenes Stage (W414 ABCD)
Be among the first to get a sneak peek into what new exclusives will be coming from the Disney Parks in 2012 and 2013. You will also take an inside look behind the magic at how Disney Parks creates exclusive Star Wars merchandise, with insights from Brad Schoeneberg and Cody Hampton of Disney’s creative development team.
The New Star Tours: The Adventures Continue

Before you take your next trip on the Starspeeder 1000, you’ll want to check out this panel that goes behind the scenes at Walt Disney Imagineering and Industrial Light & Magic. Bill George and Steven F. Spiegel will reveal what it took to relaunch the hit attraction in 3D, and what secrets the amazing ride through the galaxy may hold.
On the show floor, Walt Disney World will be bringing their Carbon Freeze Me experience to Celebration VI, offering Star Wars fans a chance to be frozen in custom carbonite figurines, just like Disney recently offered at Star Wars Weekends. The cost starts at $99.95 (plus tax and shipping) for an 8-inch figurine featuring your 3-D printed face on Han Solo’s body. In addition to the Carbon Freeze Me experience, Disney Theme Park Merchandise will debut D-Tech On-Demand iPhone 4/4S cases featuring a variety of Star Wars and Disney designs printed right there for $36.95 each. Both will be located in booth 341.
Star Tours – 25th Anniversary – Die-Cast Starspeeder Collection ($19.95)
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of Star Tours™, Disney is releasing the Starspeeder die-cast collection that features both the Starspeeder 3000 and the Starspeeder 1000.
Vinylmation – Star Wars – Princess Leia Hologram ($18.95, LE 2500)
Along with the release of Vinylmation™ – Star Wars™ Series #2, this Celebration VI exclusive variant figure features Princess Leia as a hologram.
